One of the most important things to know before visiting is that PokéPark experiences require a timed entry reservation.
Because of this, it’s best to plan your schedule around your reserved entry time. Many visitors arrive when Yomiuriland opens, spend the morning enjoying rides and attractions in the amusement park, and then head to PokéPark when their entry window approaches. This strategy helps you enjoy both parts of the park without feeling rushed.

Accessing PokéPark requires separate admission from the main amusement park, so you will want to make sure both tickets are arranged ahead of time whenever possible.
If you plan to enjoy the rides and attractions in Yomiuriland, a full-day ride pass can be more economical than purchasing individual ride tickets throughout the day.

Yomiuriland is located just outside central Tokyo and is surprisingly easy to reach by train.
The most common route is:
• Take the train to Keio-Yomiuriland Station
• From there, take a short taxi ride (about 5–10 minutes) to the park entrance
For a scenic alternative, you can also ride the gondola from the station up to the park. Families often enjoy this ride for the beautiful views, though a taxi may be quicker if you are traveling with small children.

Before arriving, it is helpful to download the Yomiuriland Official App. The app provides useful navigation within the park and can help you check attraction information and manage your schedule for the day.
Having the app ready in advance can save time and help you orient yourself more easily once inside the park.

PokéPark is designed as an outdoor exploration experience, with forest paths and walking trails where Pokémon appear throughout the environment.
Because of this, we recommend:
• Comfortable walking shoes
• Weather-appropriate clothing
• Checking the forecast before your visit
The park is fairly large, so allow extra time for walking between different areas.
Dining options inside Yomiuriland are somewhat limited, though there are casual options, including a ramen restaurant.
If you prefer more flexibility, there is a convenience store near the entrance where you can purchase drinks and small snacks before entering the park. Bringing light snacks and water is especially helpful for families visiting with children.
You’ll also find Pokémon-themed foods and treats throughout the park. They are adorable and fun for photos, though they may not always be the best value in terms of flavor or portion size. Great for Instagram, of course!

While PokéPark is often the highlight of the day, Yomiuriland itself offers a wide variety of rides, seasonal attractions, and entertainment areas. Taking time to experience both creates a well-rounded and memorable visit for Pokémon fans of all ages.

In particular, Yomiuriland is incredibly famous for its annual “Yomiuriland Jewellumination,” where they cover the entire park in millions of lights after dark for a one-of-a-kind illumination sight! If you want to take extra time to stay in the park, you HAVE to stick around after dark to check this out. You absolutely won’t regret it.
With a bit of planning and a sense of adventure, your day exploring PokéPark and Yomiuriland can become one of the most joyful and memorable experiences during your time in Japan. And who knows? You might even spot your favorite Pokémon along the way.
